Shahul Hameed was born in a family of music lovers, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. He started learning classical music at a young age and was also influenced by the popular music of his time. He started performing in music competitions and local events and soon gained recognition for his singing skills.
In the early 1970s, Shahul Hameed got his break as a playback singer in the Tamil film industry. He worked with several music directors and singers and soon became a popular choice for film songs.
